was held in-person at Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD), Cambridge Massachusetts USA
and simultaneously \/ asynchronously on-line – a ‘Hybrid’ format.<\/p>\n

Over 60 speakers presented on topics in a dozen categories including ” Algorithmic Design and Analysis of Landscapes”, “Geodesign”, “Drone\/UAV Imagery”, “Digital Landscape Architecture in Practice”, “Responses to Climate Change” and others. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Digital Landscape Architecture is built from the knowledge and contributions of academics, practitioners, and researchers, as well as by an awareness of history coupled with visions of the future. We were pleased and excited to host three dynamic speakers at DLA2022 who together represent a fusion of all these critical perspectives, and whose experiences, insights, and comments\u00a0 certainly deepened and broadened the vibrant discussion that marks every DLA conference. <\/span><\/p>\n

Plenary Discussion: “Reflections and Projections\u201d<\/strong><\/h1>\n

\u00a0<\/em>The final session on Friday afternoon\u00a0 was an opportunity to reflect on the diverse proceedings of the conference, and on projection(s) of them into the future;\u00a0 with special attention to two important modes of action in digital landscape architecture: ‘Practices’ and ‘Pedagogies’. Nine invited strong female voices from across the spectrum of teaching, practice, and research\u00a0 shared the podium for a panel presentation and discussion with each other, and with the conference attendees.

The presentations and discussions in the Plenary Session\u00a0 focused on the existential question of Global Climate Change, and the possible, probable, and as-yet un-imagined responses of digital landscape architecture to this problematic. What kinds of hybridity and hybrid education, action, and practice\u00a0 can we foresee? What kinds of events and forces and responses are un-foresee-able?
